I like the system and Id like to also go solar but im just wondering costs thats basicly my last hurdle. where would I get those?

Are you stepping the voltage down from the panels thru the controller?
I’ve seen that the MPPT charge controllers can change voltage from higher to lower for the battery bank.

The funny thing is that youtube also inspired me to get my solar system from sunpower.

there is the question of running everything from solar whats needed of course? and the cost of it too. and protecting the solar panals from harm.
What they need to do is sell simple design kits in department stores and advertise the benefits. Eventually more and more people will buy them, recession or no recession, thus driving down the price.

kept it simple and easy to understand
going to build a silimar system myself however i was also going to add a wind turbine for the winter. Our winters are only 59 F or 15 oC on average.
nice little setup you have there. Any upgrades since you installed it.
liking the set up :) I firmly believe we ALL need to be doing this, If you had one side of the roof of your house covered in panels you would have all the energy you need.
The initial cost is the bummer, but i hope people learn to see the long term ecological and financial benafits of going off grid.

How much did the inverter cost?
hi x626 I have a total of $2700 . that is a bargain for 900 - 2180 watts before inverters any time on demand. I’ll never pay $20 a day to run a large generator again. The pay off is about 3 years or as soon as you build if it is your hobbie : ) people like us will have power when the rest are scramling for gasoline & over priced generators that are loud and almost never pay for themselves unless you make $ by using it.
@getjagged what is the total cost for all that? Have you calculated how long it will take to make it back? thanks.
